    Also
called The Naval Battle Ground this is a historical site where the French and
Thai naval forces fought during the height of the French colonization of Indochina
in 1921. IMMIGRATION OFFICE
    There
is no immigration office in Trat town center, but there is a regional immigration
office in Laem Ngob (Tel.039-597-261, email: c_laemngob@immigration.go.th.) It
is open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm everyday, while the visa section has hours of
8 am to 8 pm daily.
    Another
location is in Klong Yai in the province of Trat (Tel.039-588-108, email: c_khlongyai@immigration.go.th.)
There are mini-vans available for you at the Trat town center that leaves every
few minutes to go to Klong Yai.
POST OFFICE
    The
main postal office at Tha Rua Jang Road (Tel. 039-511-175), located in the northeastern
section of the town centre, is open from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on weekdays and from
9.00 am to midday on Saturdays. The telecommunications office near the post office,
which opens daily from 7.00 am to 10.00 pm, offers international phone and fax
services. The other post office is in Laem Ngob (Tel. 039-597-240.) BORIWAEN
YUTTHANAVEE (NAVAL BATTLE GROUND MEMORIAL)     This
site located in Laem Ngob commemorates the naval battle between Thailand and France
when both countries fought during the height of the French colonization of Indochina
in 1941. MONEY
& BANKING     Bank
services are between 8.30 am and 3.30 pm Mondays to Fridays except for the Krung
Thai Bank which extends its service to 4.30 pm. All ATMs operate round the clock.
Besides banks, there are currency exchange booths.
